CE-130 - AC Electronics, Fundamentals

In this course, the students are introduced to time varying signals such as square, ramp and sinusoidal waveforms. The students will learn how any periodic signal can be represented as the sum of discrete sinusoidal waves, and how electrical engineers take advantage of this property to design filters and other useful circuits. Students are introduced to Fourier Transforms and imaginary and complex representation of numbers. The concepts covered in this course are fundamental to understanding more complex concepts in AC electronics such as filter behaviors and communication systems such as radio, TV and cellular networks.
