Tony Mauro

Technical Curriculum Development and Instructor

Tony received his BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from California Polytechnic University, Pomona and University of Southern CA. He has 25 years of industry experience in the areas of communication systems, digital signal processing, multimedia, security and patent prosecution. Additionally, Tony is a registered patent agent with US Patent and Trademark Office.

Tony currently teaches Computer Science and Engineering at Canyon Crest Academy, a nationally ranked public high school in the San Dieguito Union High School District. Many of Tony’s students each year graduate to attend top engineering universities.  Tony’s current endeavors with NexStream include curriculum development in the fields of  Machine Learning, Computer Engineering, Robotics, and Cloud Computing where he is combining his industry experience with his love of teaching to create an effective self-paced and practical engineering program.

Babak Aryan

Technical Curriculum Development and Information Technology Management

Babak received his BS and MS degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering with an emphasis in Digital Communications from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in 1991 and 1993 respectively.  From 1991 to 2018, Babak worked in the field of digital communications (CDMA , 1xEVDo, Mobile to Mobile Communication, Peer-to-Peer Positioning, IOT, OFDMA and 5G) at Qualcomm, Inc. During his tenure, he held various positions in the subscriber division, HW systems engineering group as well as the R&D division, and he was in charge of multiple medium and large sized projects. Additionally, Babak has been the main author or a contributor to more than 25 US and international patents.

Since his retirement from Qualcomm, Babak has stayed engaged in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering as a consultant and by tending to his other life passion, teaching. He was involved in developing and teaching an Electrical Engineering curriculum that relied mainly on a practical hands-on learning experience. Babak’s current endeavor is to bring his practical experience and passion for science, technology and engineering to NexStream’s project based and industry relevant teaching philosophy.

Dandan Pan

Operations and Marketing

Dandan received her BA in Foreign Languages from Zhejiang University, China, and MS in Consumer Economics from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY. She is a founder/co-founder of two educational companies with broad experiences in product management, business development, program/project management, engineering operations, cost modeling at top high-tech companies.

She led the 1st smartphone, 1st Android-based Pad launch, and the world’s 1st CDAM Location-Based Service deployment on behalf of Qualcomm by working with OEMs, carriers, system providers, and application providers. Dandan also led a team of SW PMs (30+) in technology and product teams with an innovative approach of SW management from PRD to POR to commercialization. Dandan commands unique experiences of working with top consulting companies like Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and PRTM Management Consulting (part of PwC). After her career at Qualcomm, Dandan led the development of an effective platform that is used to recruit and manage thousands of global tutors for Alo7.com (largest English digital curriculum developer for K-12 schools). Dandan has a deep passion to take an ambiguous idea and turn into concreted deliverables. She loves ambiguity, chaos as she can see the path through a dark forest.
